Getting to UCLA in Los Angeles, California

Campus Location

The UCLA campus is located in West Los Angeles, conveniently located near the 405 and 10 Freeways. The main campus is bounded by Sunset Boulevard on the north and Le Conte Avenue on the south; the east border is Hilgard Avenue and the west border is Gayley Avenue.

Ground Transportation

You are responsible for your ground transportation. Here are some options:

• LAX FlyAway Shuttle Service to Westwood: Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) provides FlyAway bus service to and from Westwood and LAX. The 1-way fare is $10 (subject to change). Visit lawa.org/flyaway for details, including hours of operation.
• SuperShuttle (Shared Van): SuperShuttle is one of our transportation shuttle providers to the Westwood area. For passengers arriving at the airport, Super-Shuttle has provided ground transportation ticketing booths just outside the baggage claim area at all terminals. Passengers may purchase tickets for immediate airport pickup in front of their airline terminal. The rate is approximately $13-25 for transportation from the airport to the Westwood/Brentwood area (rate varies according to final destination). The van drives you directly to your destination. Call SuperShuttle at (310) 782-6600 or visit their website to reserve online. American Express, Carte Blanche, Diner’s Club, MasterCard, and VISA are accepted.
• Taxis & Private Car Service: Taxis are available at the airport with rates that range upward from $30 for transportation to the UCLA campus and Westwood Village. Yellow Cab Company may be reached at: (800) 711-8294. For private car service, Los Angeles is served by Uber and Lyft, mobile on-demand car services. Fares from Los Angeles International Airport to UCLA cost around $60.

Driving Directions From the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)

The closest major airport to UCLA is the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), located approximately 15 miles south of the campus.

From LAX, take the 405 Freeway north to the Sunset Boulevard exit. Continue east on Sunset for several blocks, moving into the right hand lane. Make a right turn onto Bellagio Drive and proceed to the stop sign at De Neve Drive. Housing facilities can be accessed from either direction. Sunset Village Parking is to the left and all other residence halls are to the right.

Driving time from LAX varies depending on the day of the week and time of day you are traveling. During non-rush hour traffic times, plan on about a 45-minute drive between the campus and LAX; during rush hour traffic, plan on an hour or more.
